Higurashi no naku Koro ni Kai

Season 1 of Higu was pretty much going through 26 ways to end the horror story. This season 2 does the job of revealing the truth.

End series thoughts and ramblings

Finally went on to properly watch and finish off Higurashi Kai.
Pretty much a messy post.

My summary, thoughts and ramblings of it:
One ep recap and the going into aliens, ufo, virus - opening the sci-fi stuff. One of the many futures of Hinaizawa?
The first story to go into Rika's mindset to understand her being reborn into countless Hinamizawas and inrtoduce the character Hanyuu. Rika drinks wine every night to numb the pain?
Second story to reveal Miyo as the culprit and more on the Hinamisawa Syndrome and the workings of Irie Institute. Its amazing how Rika brought the story further by expressing how she is bored of playing Karuta. Rika starts to build her party.
Third story, backstory of Miyo and Hanyuu. How Miyo lost her parents, bad memories in an orphanage, stressful situation while escaping, misunderstood conversation with Prof Hifumi, gathering support for Hifumi's research, gaining support and power, corrupted by power. How Hanyuu witness the happenings in Hanamizawa.
The forth story, further linking and revealing the political part. New party members, the adults.

Pretty much enjoyed Miyo's story. Miyo is pretty similar to Satoko. The loss of her parents, her life spirals downhill. She falls into a life governed by fear, somewhat like early Hinamizawa. She was blessed at first that phone booth and the coin but God decides to play with her a bit more. So the later part of her life she lives with Prof Hifumi who researchs the Hinamizawa Syndrome. She respects him and feels indebted to him. Too bad Hifumi had to research on the taboo subject. That day onwards she has a mission. She lived on studying, climbing to the top. She finally got the chess pieces set, time to make a God. That determination and the power she held she started to do whatever it takes to find the microbe, Irie was shock at Miyo's way. She doesn't bother about a cure, she just wants to prove the overwhelming importance of Prof Hifumi's research to the world.

Seems to me, in the end Miyo became a pawn in the politcal struggles.
Hinamizawa became sort of a political weapon.
Zetsubou shi ta!! The ugliness of politics has brought despair to me!

Miyo is sure inflicting lots of pressure on Irie.
Miyo and Irie want to clear their parents names.
At first I thought Miyo is just some occult maniac.
In season 1 I thought "huh Takano is a nurse?" and in season 2 theres lots of screentime with Miyo in nurse uniform.
Funny that Miyo got that black costume to go with the "leader of the evil forces" role.
Wow, the truth that Satoshi isn't that great of a brother but its human.
Sad to know that Satoshi and Satoko never had a good family to begin with.
So Reina created a Rena personality to restart life.
Realized that those are Miyo scenes in the OP when I hit the third story.
The third story really have too much to talk about, its the best so far.
Slowly theres less ni-pa and more aawwuuu~.
Less reading into subs and more listening found out that Mion calls herself "Oji-san".
Just so happen that solving the problem with Satoko's uncle made him not appear in the last story convieniently.
Wooo, Akasaka the Street Fighter!

Miyo trusted money and power too much, blinded by her mission.

The usual club activities trained up some super elite force.
Some fun and exciting childhood those guys have.

Unanswered thoughts:
So it reveals that its Miyo's strong will that defeated Rika, then what caused Rika's reborn to the rewinded Hinamizawas? Hanyuu did mention the power that resurrect Rika has weaken but she never said its her's. Is it the will of Hinamizawa? Seems like that power made so that the new Rika brings over her memories, seems like a bit of that power spread to the other kids in the second story.
- That Frederica Bernkastel person is an easy way to answer this.

Wonder how does the disease spread by air, water? So it really came from outer space?

The revalation of the "Queen" came pretty sudden, I would like to see how they came to that.

Its because I don't understand, why does Miyo have the title "Major"?

Maybe I missed something but what makes Miyo's approach in gathering support work compared to Hifumi? Just because she is a pretty girl? The change of times?

Just what is Hanyuu? She said she is a god, Rika calls her the Oyashirou-sama, how I wish theres some backstory episode on her.

What!? Adult Rika and child Miyo?
Rika changes the past?
Man, I want to see the others grown up too.
- On more digging at the wiki, came across Frederica Bernkastel and the possible connection to Umineko.

Final thoughts:
The village setting, supernatural and sci-fi makes me relate Higurashi kai to Ghost Hound.
Violet vilagers got me thinking of Siren and Biohazard 4.

How about some Higurashi sidestory RPG game?

I think that can at least do 2 movies, one showing the children part and another for the Miyo part.
But I'm not really that supportive of such live-action movies (sucky cast).

Regarding the Rei OVA, theres a fandisc by the original creators with the same name:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni_Rei
Maybe those could be the stories that will be animated?

Seems like the upcoming Kizuna game will include new scenario and characters, characters from the manga.

Got to do a bit of research before the Umineko craze start.

=============

Digging into the Umineko wiki.
It seems like Higurashi is just a game between 2 witches.

Higurashi->Kai->Umineko is kinda like Ring->Rasen->Loop.
