Neon Genesis Evangelion ANIMA is light novel running in Dengeki Hobby Magazine. It features a what if secenario where the Human Instrumentality Project was not invoked and the children are now 17 years old.
Rough translations and info extracts as follow.
Plot? Hmm... One the english eva forums mentioned something about for ANIMA the Angels arrived later then in the TV series. This japanese blog says this: " In the world where the actions of Kaji Ryouji helped Nerv escaped the invasion of Seele and the Human Instrumentality Project was not invoked. Shinji now 17 and the watermelon he has been growing last year..." It also says that ANIMA is an "if" series and DHM also seem to say its a alternate world. Super Eva will appear in the next chapter "Eva00 lost"(rough trans). Evas For the Eva01 F-type, it seems to have no change from the original data from the wiki. For ANIMA, it has redesigned arms and shoulders. Not sure of their function or if there is any function. For the Eva00 F-type, it says that after 00 is heavily damaged by Armisael(16th Angel), its core is retieved and brought back and stored in Central Dogma. It is then rebuilt with the parts of prototype 00 and the new F-type parts into a specialized sniper type. It's left arm is replaced with the Field Sinker equipment Angel's Spine which seem to shoot AT Field to sink AT Fields. No S2 engine. Its right leg is replaced too with some thingy that help to stabilize it when shooting.

Chapter 2 Got a copy of DHM this month too, mainly for the Astraea parts.
For this month there is a lovely pic of Rei and the designs of the Eva00 Prototype Type II Kai: Area Defense Unit [0.0 EVA] and the 3d polygon model of the Super Evangelion. Some tidbits very roughly intepreted: [0.0 EVA]
This is a new different unit from the Eva00 F-type.
There are 3 0.0 EVA units. It seems to be made from the remains of the mass-produced type as the base plus the parts of Prototype Eva00. 1 unit is usually in New Tokyo-3 airspace and the other 2 in space. It is eqquipped with a high output laser that makes use of the high power output of the S2 Engine. The unit reuse the S2 Engine of the mass-produced remains.(that backpack attachment?) The pilots are special long term space mission use Rei clones - Rei/Quatre, Rei/Cinq, Rei/Sith. (rough translate) The clones are usually stored in normal entry plugs in a suspended state and activated when emergency arises. Theres still more stuff about the clones and Ayanami Rei and the S2 Engine but I can't read them. Story Form this blog, it seems that Rei/Quatre's unit went berserk? It makes sending power through air possible. The system uses the S2 engine from Ramiel as the generator. The Nerv HQ too obtains power from this system. The big sword is the AT-Field weapon "Bizenosafune". The blog seem to say that EVA02 for the upcoming movie has 2 horns too(?). Not much I can read on Angel Carrier but theres stuff on it stored part of Sachiel's abdomen part. This new type of MP EVA carries Angel parts? LOL, this time its Shinji. He has grown long hair and tied it in a ponytail. After inheriting Kaji's watermelons, he inhirits the hairstyle. Paragraph before the Angel Carrirer scratchbuild: "With the Strategic Defense Force as target, the EVA-00 Quatre unit and its pilot decends from outer space. What is the aim of the girl in the black plug suit... The true form of the voice guiding the girl... And, will she become the enemy of mankind... " Its said in the paragraph after the Angel Carrirer scratchbuild pic that the story develop to a fight between the Super Evangelion and the EVA-00. Its like an Eva Evolve ver. What I can pick out from the brown boxes: 0.0 Eva Quarte - Can't get the first 4 lines. Fallen from orbit, heavily damaged, contamination...entry plug reactived, disappeared after fight with Eva01 Type F. - Body fused with S2 engine. Super Evangelion - the Super Eva design handles the changes brought by the ingestion of the S2 engine better. (Like better heat management etc..) - The usage of AT Field weapons (Magoroku-E Sword, F-type equipment) is considered Stage 2 upgrade, Super Eva is Stage 3. - Super Eva is built with optimized parts/techonology from Seele's MP Evas which also used S2 engines.       Chapter 5 OK, its chapter 4 already.
This time we have Rei Quatre on the front page as Ovan has posted. I'll top-up with pictures I taken from my copy. Super Evangelion lineart EVA02 Kai and Spear of Longinus EVA02 Kai vs Angelcarrirer The brown boxes for this month are Super Evangelion(Part 2) and Spear of Longinus, the first 2 pics accompany the boxes. Third pic shows a scene of EVA02 Kai defeating the new Angelcarrier. Super Evangelion part 2 Some recognizable stuff from the big chuck of characters: - Stage 4 seems to be experimental equipemnt for Super EVA use which will tap on the power of the S2 engine. - Super EVA: Slim body of stage 1 EVA, tough armor of F-type equipment and the amazing power output of the S2 engine. Spear of Longinus Can't make out much but it seems like the Spear Asuka is using is one of those used by the MP Evas, the only one left in the useable state.
The real Spear is in space, it was planned for 0.0 EVA to retrieve it but now with the loss of 0.0 EVA Quatre it is harder. [Super Evangelion] I'll try to break the long text to paragraph points:::Paragraph 1 - The ingestion of the S2 Engine brought about problems such as body toughness, power output changes and heat genration, changes need to be made to remedy it. - The initial modifications are called "Stage 2 modification", the standardizing of the linkage of the usage equipment of AT-Field weapons and SDF weapons(?) - The Stage 3 modification (Super Evangelion) consist of, the transplant of systems from the captured MP Evas to better fit the changed power output, the integration of a new [something] device and various mechanical equipment. - But Eva01 is currently self regenerating as it was badly damaged in the battle with Quarte. ::Paragraph 2 ::Paragraph 3 [Bizenosafune] [New type pallet rifle "Powered 8"]

Was an operator of Nerv JAPAN HQ and now the manager of the Technology Development Division, Technology Bureau First Class. She replaces Akagi Ritsuko who was declared KIA in the defense battle of Nerv Japan Headquarters. She majors in Information Procesing but is also well versed in Synthetic Sciences, active in development of EVA hardware and software. After the defense battle, it is said that her favourite sunglass is left behind by Akagi Ritsuko.

The new anti-Angel weapon used by the Strategic Defense Force. A successor unit that carry the traits of the land unit "J.A" series and the anti-land attacker "VTOL" series.

[The Black Evangelion]
The black unit that appeared at the Moon. The head is covered by a google, it is thought to have similar head structure as the twin eye type EVA-01. The lighted spot between the root of the two horns is a detail from the early designs of EVA-01 by Yamashita Ikuto.
