Christmas Break Schedule

If you are an out of town college student, we'd love to see you while you're here! We will have Sunday School in Mod. 3 (only on Dec. 20th) at 11:15am, then Dec 27 and Jan. 3 there are no small groups. Passion 2010 Deposits DUE SUNDAY!!

If you are interested/intending to come with us to Passion 2010 (Jan. 2-5), deposits of $50 to secure your ticket are due NEXT SUNDAY, NOV. 22.  The second payment of $50 is due December  1, with the remaining balance due by Sunday, Dec. 13. Total cost is $200.

David Crowder Band Concert, TUESDAY

The student ministry has purchased a block of tickets for the Crowder concert Tuesday, the 17^th at GWU. Cost is $25. Call Zac (zashley@mtararat.org) or Erin (esims@mtararat.org) if you would like to go. Transportation is also provided.

Baptisms Oct 25^th

Jesus is changing people’s lives every Sunday, and we get to experience it! On Sunday, Oct 25, at all three services, we will gather around the baptism waters once again. Because of the great attendance we've had, we are opening another home group option on Thursday nights, hosted by Ben and Becca at their home in North Fredericksburg (approx 15 min from Mt. Ararat). If you have a hard time making it every Sunday, or are just looking for a smaller more focused group, consider joining us! We will be studying "Life Lessons" by Ray Van Der Laan. Passion 2010 – Get your deposits in!!
Passion 2010 is a conference open to 18-25 year olds being held in Atlanta January 2-5. Passion Ministries is led by speaker Louie Giglio and supports such worship leaders as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Charlie Hall, Kristian Stanfill, and others. Other speakers will include John Piper, Beth Moore, and Andy Stanley. Exciting News!! Hillsong United will also be at Passion 2010!!

 

We are requesting a $50 deposit to claim your ticket for Passion. We are also now accepting full payments of $200 (minus if you have already sent us your deposit). You can give your money to Ben or Becca or mail it in to us. Make checks out to Ben or Becca Griffitts with Passion 2010 in the memo line. If you would like to mail it, send to 1419 Northridge Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22405. Do not write checks to MABC. Deadline for deposits is November 22.

Don't forget to use the church's gift card program to help earn you even more money towards the price of your ticket!! These are a great Christmas gift idea! Also, if you think money will be an issue for yourself or someone you know, please let us know so we can help!

Indescribable Bonfire Party
SATURDAY, Oct 10 at 5:00pm
Join us at the Bass's home in Fauquier for dinner, games, and a special viewing of Passion's Louie Giglio giving the talk "Indescribable" while we sit under the clear starry night. Dinner will be provided, just bring yourself, some good shoes if you want to participate in Ultimate Frisbee or other games, and something to sit on or a blanket.

Directions from MABC: turn Right out of the parking lot onto 610 west (heading away from Stafford). Follow for almost 7 miles, then take a Left onto Aquia Rd when a turn lane appears (stay Right to remain on Aquia). Follow until the road T's, then turn Left onto Bristursburg Rd. Follow only .25 mile and make a sharp Right turn onto Midland Rd. Follow 2.5 miles, then turn Left onto Ensor's Shop Rd. Go 1 mile and turn Left onto Elk Run Church Rd (gravel road). Follow 1/2 mile and turn Right onto Bass Springs Rd. We will be at the beige home at the top of the hill.

MABC Clothing Drive Help Needed
MABC's Clothing Give-away will be Saturday, October 17th, but they need LOTS of help to sort the massive amount of clothing they have received so far. The FLC will be open every day Oct 12-17 for people to come help sort and fold the clothes. If you have any time that week, help would be greatly appreciated. No contact is necessary, just show up!

Lunches to DC Service Project

Passion 2010
If you are interested in coming with us to Passion 2010 on January 2-5, we need your deposit ($50) ASAP to reserve your ticket! The deadline for deposits is November 22, and the total cost will be under $200. This cost includes ticket, hotel, and travel. You will need to bring some money for food on the way down, trip back, and dinners while there. Chair Setup and Fellowship
Every Sunday in September the young adults have the opportunity to serve by helping to set up the chairs in the FLC for Sunday services. We will meet there at 5:00 and then follow that time with some fun hangout event. This Saturday we will be having a cookout and game night at a house in Stafford (either Jenn's parents, or Ben's parents). Even if you can't come to the chair setup, please come join us later to hang out!

Never been Baptized?
At the church-wide tailgate party on September 27th we will be holding baptisms as well. If you have never been baptized and would like to make that step, please contact the church at 540-659-2554. Rain date will be October 4. We would be SO excited to celebrate with you!!

Looking for a place to serve?
Pastor Todd gave us some statistics of ministries in our church that still need more volunteers this year. There are openings for the greeting and connections ministries, student (middle and high school) ministry, and children's ministries, just to name a few. Because it is so difficult being away and separated from your family, friends, and many times also your spiritual encouragement/accountability, we want to match each of you with an individual or family from the church who will be committed to praying for you and encouraging you through this school year. Your sponsor will be in contact with you at least twice a semester, so feel free to share any prayer requests or praises so your sponsor can better pray for you and encourage you.

These Gift cards are from corporate vendors and Great Lake Scrip, who return a percentage of the face value back to MABC as proceeds that we can accrue. When you purchase gift cards, the accrued percentage will be kept in an account which you’ve designated as either RBO or a family account to be used for church-sponsored mission trips, camps/retreats and programs. These proceeds add up very quickly, for example: In a month you might buy $600 worth of Shopper’s gift cards at 5% ($30), $50 in Starbucks at 7% ($3.50) which translates to a total of $33.50 added to your account.

Sunday School Aug 30 -room change
We are unable to use our normal modular for meeting, so we will be in room 242/244 (next to the choir room) this Sunday at 11:00.
