would like your student to know about you What is asked of a Sponsor 1. Pray for your student. Prayer is the most important thing your student needs as they face life without their church friends and family around them. Pray that they would seek out Godly friends and activities, and that they would be strengthening their own relationships with Him on a daily basis. Placing their profile page on your refrigerator or in another visible area at home will help you see their face and remember to pray every day.
2. Contact your student. Sponsors are asked to make contact with your student at least twice a semester (Fall and Spring), to encourage them and remind them that they have not been forgotten in the church body, as well as to enquire about new prayer requests, or simply to let them know they are being prayed for. Some people also like to send little gifts, cards or care packages to their adopted students. |
