Re:  Development plans for "Ridgewood Village"

Dear Supervisors:

Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this letter.

I am writing to you as a concerned resident of <insert> (Lumbar Hills, Cutten, Ridgewood area, etc.) regarding plans for the "Redgewood Village" development in our community.  In the history of Humboldt County, there have never been overall development plans as immense as the plans for the Lundbar Hills/Cutten/Ridgewood areas.

While Board approved community planning decisions are made on a regular basis, it is when projects of such massive proportion are incompatible with neighborhood safety and lifestyles, that community members take notice and action.

The Lundbar Hills/Cutten area has been, since its inception, a rural residential area surrounded by timberlands.  What development has occurred has maintained true to the neighborhood's character.  However, "Ridgewood Village" proposes a vast reduction of timberlands, the building of a mall two-thirds the size of the largest mall in Humboldt County (the Bayshore Mall), as well as the largest development of row-housing in the aea, in the midst of a forest.  As a community member, I do not support the "Ridegwood Village" project due to its complete lack of neighborhood compatibility.  I urge you to consider what I do support, as your constituent:
<insert your vision for the area here>

1)  I support zoning as originally planned for the area:  low-density residential developments only.
2)  I support the reduction of proposed roads to the area.
3)  I support safer pedestrain/bicycle/motor vehicle measures for present roads.
4)  I support the reduction of the proposed high-population increase for the area.
5)  I support maintaining the area as a residential community, and not as a commercial community.
6)  I support an increase in the timberland/parklands to be saved.

I appreciate your consideration for the community members effected by your decisions regarding this project.  Please feel free to contact me should you like to know more about what the community supports and would like to see for the future of our area.

Again, thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
