Wesley Community Furniture
The Wesley supplies furniture, domestic appliances, household goods and clothing at the lowest possible prices to those in greatest need from all over the City of Manchester. Their vans can collect donations of most household items city wide. These are then sorted, stored and sold from their two shops and delivered (free of charge) to those in need. Most of the work of the project is carried out by volunteers, and all money they make is used so that they can continue to provide the service. Green Man Medical Herbalist
Humans have been harnessing the healing powers of plants for many thousands of years. From our earliest ancestors and ancient civilisations, down through mediaeval medicine and the folk cures of our grandparents, this heritage has developed and grown. Modern Herbal Medicine combines this traditional knowledge with contemporary holistic medicine, giving an approach to healing and health that is gentle, natural and sustainable. As we continue to research and discover more about these amazing medicines we in turn contribute too and develop this living tradition. As a Medical Herbalist, Tim Moorhouse uses this approach to create unique herbal remedies specific to your health problems and illnesses. He also introduces people to the plants and Herbal Medicine through his Herb Walks and Talks. CAT Centre for Alternative Technology offer solutions to some of the most serious challenges facing our planet and the human race, such as climate change, pollution and the waste of precious resources. We demonstrate practical ways of addressing these problems. Leading by example, we aim to show that living more sustainably is not only easy to attain but can provide a better quality of life. Averting a massive environmental disaster is not out of our reach, although if we continue to treat the early signs with apathy, it soon will be. http://www.cat.org.uk/information/aboutcatx.tmpl?init=1 |
