A fun filled adventure to York. Travelling to York by train and then visiting the National Railway Museum saw the District Beavers definitely 'on the Rails!' The highlight of the day for the young people (and some of the adults...) was seeing the "Hogwarts express" used in the Harry Potter films, we were lucky enought to be able to stand on the footplate and see the "ma
gic" coal that powers the train...
We also got to sit on the Japanese Bullet train and watch a video of the train in action.
On the day of our visit there was a large model railway show taking place in the museum, the young people were fascinated with the different layouts so dont be surprised if santa is asked for a train set this year !!!
We all also attended an interactive science show where experiments were shown to explain gravity , speed and forces.
Some of the Beavers were very keen to get involved with these and got to be part of the show. I hope everyone had a great day out !!
