Sir John Soane Museum: A Project for the Summer.. This intergenerational shared learning
project, run as part of their new Community Engagement Programme, will create Georgian
and Regency clothed figures for the Museum's Handling Collection and provide
characters for a short animation which will appear on the Museum's website.
Participating in this project will involve research, guided by the Museum’s
Archivist, into the occupations and working costumes of people in the time of
Sir John Soane (1753 - 1837) and subsequently interacting with the young people
to recreate the costumes on a number of 12” figures. For fuller details, click on attached John Soane Museum flyer below or click on the down arrow to download.
Applications must be received by Monday
25th June for a Project start on Monday 9th July. For further information and an
application form contact the Project Leader, Yvonne Zane: yvonnezane@yahoo.co.uk Apply Now!

It has been decided to reduce History Group meetings to just the second Friday of the month but at the same time and venue. This is due to the continued absence of John who remains unwell and whose input is being missed. However, there will hopefully be enough others to run the reduced meeting schedule.
It is intended to emulate the BBC4 series which takes the 'long view' by looking at any current topic/news AND its historical development. All who want to air a topic and its history should contact Richard Barron who has volunteered to be meeting coordinator. Please view the Calendar for next meetings.. |

Only interested in Tai'Chi - simply turn up at 3:15pm after the Pilates...
