September Workshop

Lynne Vogel, author of The Twisted Sisters Sock Workbook, will teach a 2 day color spinning workshop where you will learn to spin active twist single yarns from handpainted rovings then immediately knitting or crocheting small motifs from the yarns as an exercise in exploring how the colors in the fiber appear on the yarns with techniques for using those colors to the fullest. Participants will get one 4 oz hank of handdyed Blue Face Leicester fiber for each, and more fiber will be available for sale.

Photos of a similar class can be seen on Lynne's blog at http://www.handspuncentral.blogspot.com .  Look for Hands On Color Monteagle a Huge Success.  This type of work can be as delicate or bold as you like, and the fine yarns really makes excellent use of crochet. You don't need to know how to crochet to attend the workshop.

Participants for this workshop will need a spinning wheel or several spindles, a lazy kate, knitting needles and crochet hooks.  Participants should be comfortable spinning at their wheel or spindle. This is not a beginning spinning class but newer spinners who are comfortable spinning a stable yarn will enjoy the class. Other than that,  all experience levels of spinners and knitters/crocheters are welcome to attend.
