Howl, the voice of UNM-Taos, a journal of the arts published by UNM-Taos students seeks to present the unique Northern New Mexico culture represented in the diverse and powerful voices of Taos.
Howl provides a venue for inspired writers and artists of all stripes to dialogue with each other and the community at large. UNM-Taos students produce a journal and website to demonstrate a selection of written and visual arts. Howl's voices are thunderous, as they resonate with the potent, interconnected chords that serve to unite our personal, academic, and common realms. Howl is a resonance that echoes across borders and fences, penetrating the minds and hearts of all who are courageous enough to attentively listen. Taos is a place deeply situated in ancestral rhythms and landscaped by its majestic mountains and deepest canyon in all of New Mexico. Perhaps the magnetic pull between these two is what draws us in and out of ourselves and has attracted so many who search for the edge or have experienced the edge to settle in this valley. |
