Assistants for Classroom Teachers
Let’s get our ACT together!!

As many of you know, A.C.T. was started by a group of concerned parents whose sole purpose was to raise funds to hire paraprofessional assistants to our classroom teachers. Since its inception, the A.C.T. program has been vital to the continued success of our children. And now with the drastic budget cuts impacting our school, it is even more important.

Through your tax deductible contributions, the A.C.T. program picks up where our tax dollars end by ensuring that our children receive every advantage in the classroom at the most critical stage of their education. These assistants are an invaluable resource for our teachers and effectively reduce the class size. They allow our teachers to schedule more individualized and small group learning activities by providing an additional set of eyes, ears and hands in the classroom.


Although we are planning a series of exciting fundraising events for the upcoming year, the funding for A.C.T. comes overwhelmingly from the parents and families of our students. The cost for each assistant hired through this program averages around $10,000 per school year. This means that in order to fully staff each grade level with at least one assistant, A.C.T. will be required to raise a minimum of $60,000.


In order to reach this goal, we will need everyone’s support.
No donation is too small. I would ask each of you to review the attached donation form and make your contribution – large or small – today. The forms can be returned via mail to the school address provided on the donation form, dropped off in the school office, or returned with your child to his teacher.

Don’t forget corporate contributions and matching gifts programs. These are often untapped resources which can make a big difference to A.C.T. Just check with your benefits department.

The A.C.T. campaign will continue throughout the school year and we are in desperate need of volunteers to assist in coordinating and executing our fundraising efforts.
