And up we go!  The silver covering that makes it look like something from the NASA space programme is a heat-reflective material as part of the skin of the house.  With temperatures sometimes reaching 36oC or more, we know it will be appreciated.

 

We were so pleased to see that the scale and height of the building was how we imagined it in scale with our neighbours and the village, because this house is in the very centre of the village.  We are not part of a British ex-pat estate which of course creates its own environment.  We were very aware, at the drawing stage, that such a consideration was very important because this is our home and these will be our Cypriot neighbours for a long time.  No swimming pool here, but beautiful olive and fruit trees.
