Alley'Oop

Alley'Oop  is thrilled to be returning to Hoop Convergence for its second year of amazing collaboration and creation. Alley, a long time professional Hooper and Fire Dancer, has been working hard performing and touring with the Wonderbolt Circus, and is currently in the process of developing their new show, "Tricksters", which will tour this summer.  She teaches throughout Canada, and is, for the moment, based out of Vancouver, where her teachings are currently focused on afterschool and youth outreach programs.    Between teaching and performing, Alley has been reuniting some of Vancouver’s finest hoopers, for epic and driven practice sessions and continues to be amazed what community will do for an art form!!!

So, with a life devoted to hooping, Alley is geared up and ready to share the lessons learned through circus life and self-employment, and is overwhelmingly excited to see the massive advancements in the greater hooping community. Here’s to Hoop Convergence 09!!

    Alley'Oop's 2009 Workshop:

Multi-Fun! The Basics, Flow and Applications!

In this Class we will be covering a variety of topics related to the fun of multiple hoops. We will cover the basics of hooping with three and four hoops, as well as elements of performance, flow with multi’s, busking, circus, and Native Hoop Dance. Last summer, I had the honour of touring with and learning from an amazing Native Hoop Dancer, which has opened the doors for a hybrid of Native hoop dance and our work with hoops.  There is much to be explored!!!

To get the most from this class please bring 3 or 4 hoops, all the same size. I will be working with both larger and smaller hoops, so bring everything ya got!!

    Alley'Oop's 2008 Workshop:

    Multiple Hoops

In this workshop you will learn the fun and challenge of using multiple hoops. Adding two, three or four hoops can greatly enhance the dynamic of your performance or take your own personal practice to a whole new level. For this class you will need three or four hoops all the same size and weight (or pretty close) and to get the most out of this workshop you will want to try to come warmed up. And don't forget to bring a little personality, as this is key in figuring out what works best for you.
