The first Hoop Convergence in 2008 brought together of a wide variety of hoopers from across the continent to create a synergistic learning environment where ideas, techniques, and energies were shared. In 2009, Hoop Convergence offered another full schedule of workshops, craft-shops and jams with lots of live music. In May of 2010, Hoop Convergence will continue its journey to unite and inspire hoopers. For 4 days and 4 nights, hoopers will converge in NC to share, learn, commune, dance, jam, play. The Convergence is held outside the beautiful Hooper Haven of Carrboro, North Carolina, an area rich with devout hoopers, grassroots communities and biodiversity. Hoop Convergence brings together the skills of talented teachers and performers from around the continent. Hoop Convergence honors the many paths of hoop dancers. Whether hooping is your personal spiritual practice, re-creation, livelihood (through teaching or performance), your vehicle for social outreach and community building or ALL of these things, this gathering will inspire and enrich your journey.
