District 8 Horse Show 2011 Results!

Congrats to Julie Hill for placing at district this year in Belton, TX!
1st place - Hunter Seat Equitation
5th place - Hunter Hack
6th place - Hunter Under Saddle
7th place - Trail
9th place - Showmanship
9th place - Western Horsemanship
Finalist -    Western Pleasure
 
She was riding Plaudit's Handsome Lad (Cinnamon).  It was our first time at District and we had a blast.

Hoofpicks' Horse Judging Team Takes 1st!

The Hoofpicks horse judging team went to the Houston Livestock show horse Judging competition (the biggest in the World with over 898 competitors) and won the contest, taking 1st Place Senior Team.  Sydney Lemanski was 15th overall and Shelby Leppin was 10th overall.  Our Team consisted of Sydney, Shelby and Chelsea Dunnehoo). 

We have a traveling trophy that will be display in the extension office until next year’s competition.  We are the only horse judging team to have won the contest more then once  and we have won in 2006, 2010 and now in 2011!  Congratulations Team!

Lauren Bergman finished in first place in the intermediate division with her "Horse" educational presentation over "Reining" that we all enjoyed recently in the monthly Hoofpicks meeting.

Aubrey-Ann Gilmore placed third among senior division presenters with a "Horse" educational presentation about the growing population and causes of "Unwanted Horses."

Kate McCarthy placed 2nd in the senior division as well.

Horse Judging Team Ft. Worth Results

The Senior Horse Judging team recently competed at the 2010 Fort Worth Stockshow and Rodeo Horse Judging Competition bringing home 4th Place. The team also placed 3rd in Reasons and 3rd in Performance with several individual catagory placings. The Senior Horse Judging Team Consists of Charlotte Woods
Aubrey Ann Gilmore, Amelia Tanner and Dillon Newsom. The Senior Horse Judging Team is coached by Lisa Onstot. Congratulation on another great year.

“SHOT” Show (Stock Horse of Texas show)

Our Secretary Lauren Bergman entered in a show on Saturday October 31, 2009 called "SHOT". There are four events in this show; working cow horse, reining, a trail course and western pleasure.  The age category that you are competing in is 8-18 which is called Youth.  (They do not have different age divisions like we do in our 4-H horse shows).  She placed 8th overall out of 20 competitors.  Her next competition is in Stephenville, Texas on November 21st.  Congratulations Lauren and good luck at the next show!!!

AjPHA World Champions

The Junior Team consisting of Faith Onstot, Hope Onstot Shelby Leppin and Dylan Newson took the title of World Champion Overall Open Division Team at the American Junior Paint Horse Association World Championship Judging Contest held on June 27th in Ft Worth, Tx. The Junior Team also took 2nd place Halter Team, 2nd place Performance Team and 3rd place Reasons Team. Congratulations on an amazing year.
