Honolulu Clean Cities can help you to find out about fuels, vehicles, costs & requirements; the experiences of other fleet mangers; and the "How?" "Why?" (and "Why not?") "Who?" and "Where?" of the different fuels and vehicles.
"Clean fuels" - such as propane, biodiesel, electricity, and alcohol fuels - have been used in Hawaii for years.
Honolulu Clean Cities is developing a proposal for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Hawaii fleets, vehicle dealers, alternative fuel companies, fuel distributors, infrastructure installers, and others who are interested in participating in one or more proposals to the US Department of Energy are welcome to participate.
Opportunity Number: DE-PS26-09NT01236-04
Opportunity Title: Clean Cities FY09 Petroleum Reduction Technologies Projects for the Transportation Sector
Deadline for input from potential Hawaii project participants: May 8, 2009
Who to contact: Joseph Kourieh, Enterprise Honolulu, 808-521-3611 x 21 (coordinating proposal on behalf of the Hawaii State Energy Office)
Federal law (the National Energy Policy Act) requires fleets in Hawaii to purchase alternative fuel vehicles. How will this affect you? Your business? Your health?
