Dr. Honggang ZHANG - Full Professor, Department of Information Science and Electronic Engineering, Zhejiang University, China.
Dr. Honggang ZHANG received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Kagoshima University, Japan, in March 1999. Prior to that, he received the Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST), China, in 1989, and Lanzhou University of Technology, China, in 1992, respectively. From October 1999 to March 2002, he was with the Shin-Kawasaki Research Center, Telecommunications Advancement Organization (TAO) of Japan, as a TAO Research Fellow. From April 2002 to November 2002, he joined the TOYOTA IT Center, where he performed research and development on software-defined radio (SDR) with applications to Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). From December 2002 to August 2004, he has been with the UWB Research Consortium, Communications Research Laboratory (CRL) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) of Japan, where his R&D responsibilities were focused on UWB wireless communications, IEEE 802.15.3a & 4a WPAN standardizations, Wireless 1394 and “1394-over-UWB” smart home networks. He was the founding member of UWB Forum and the principle author and contributor for proposing DS-UWB in IEEE 802.15 WPAN standardization task group, for which he initiated the “Soft-Spectrum Adaptation (SSA)” technique and contributed to its worldwide developments. From September 2004 to February 2008, he has been with CREATE-NET (http://www.create-net.org/), where he leaded its wireless teams in exploring Cognitive Radio (CR) and its integration with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technologies for open-spectrum wireless communications and networks evolution (i.e. CR-UWB: Ultra-Wideband Cognitive Radio) while participated a number of European FP6/FP7 projects (EUWB, PULSERS 2).
Dr. Honggang ZHANG is taking a leading role in the Technical Committee on Cognitive Networks (TCCN) of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) as Vice-Chair. He is the Co-Chairs of IEEE Globecom 2008 Symposium on the Selected Areas in Communications (SAC). He is the founding Technical Program Committee (TPC) Co-Chairs of CrownCom 2006 (International Conference on Cognitive Radio Oriented Wireless Networks and Communications 2006) as well as the Steering Committee Member of CrownCom 2006-2009.

张宏纲现任浙江大学信息科学与工程学院信息与电子工程学系全职教授。 1989年7月毕业于华中科技大学(原华中理工大学)电子与信息工程系,获学士学位。1992年6月毕业于兰州理工大学自动控制系,获工学硕士学位。1999年3月毕业于日本国立鹿儿岛大学 (Kagoshima University) 理工学研究科通信与信息工学专攻, 获工学博士学位。自1999年9月至2003年3月,加入日本国立通信放送机构(TAO)新川崎研究中心, 担任TAO研究员。自2002年4月至2002年11月,加入日本丰田汽车总公司东京IT研究中心,从事下一代软件无线电(SDR)在智能传输系统(ITS)中的应用研究与开发工作。自2002年12月至2004年8月,加入日本国立情报通信研究机构(NICT)横须贺无线通信研究中心UWB(超宽带)集结型特别研究室,从事IEEE 802.15无线个域网(UWB-WPAN)的标准化作业、超宽带无线通信及网络、无线1394 智能家庭网络及″1394-over-UWB″的研究。 2004年9月至2008年2月29日,加入欧盟(意大利)CREATE-NET研究中心,担任其无线通信及网络部门资深研究员(终身), 负责并领导该部门中下一代认知无线电与超宽带(UWB)技术有机融合的研究(CR-UWB: Ultra-Wideband Cognitive Radio),同时具体负责该部门参与及实施欧盟第六(FP6)及第七框架(FP7)跨国研究项目中有关超宽带及认知无线网络技术的各项研究课题(EUWB及PULSERS2)。
张宏纲博士长期从事无线通信与网络技术的研究,近年来在各种国际核心学术期刊及国际学术会议上发表论著及论文计60 篇以上,提出IEEE802.15国际标准提案达16项,并拥有3项国际专利。参与并领导了IEEE802.15超宽带 (UWB) 无线通信及个人局域网络 (WPAN) 国际标准的制定,是其中DS-UWB标准提案的主要提案人及制定者;该DS-UWB标准提案现已成为相关工业界内两种主流国际标准(即DS-UWB及MB-OFDM)之一。在动态频谱共存与UWB无线通信研究中,首创软频谱自适应技术(Soft-Spectrum Adaptation);该技术已被采用到IEEE802.15 UWB-WPAN标准之中,随后在欧洲倡导并开拓了认知超宽带无线通信的研究。现任IEEE通信学会认知网络技术委员会(IEEE ComSoc TCCN)副主席,并担任IEEE Globecom 2008 Symposium on Selected Areas in Communications (SAC) 共同主席;是2006年IEEE国际认知无线网络及通信大会(CrownCom2006) 技术程序委员会主席,也是2006年至2009年IEEE国际认知无线网络及通信大会(CrownCom2006-2009) Steering Committee 委员。
