Winchester Public Schools technology projects are subject to strict usage guidlines. All guidlines have been carefully explained to the students. Any student creating a web page directly linked to the site entitled homework4mrlister, http://sites.google.com/site/homework4mrlister, is subject to these guidelines.
Please follow this link to go to the Winchester Public Schools' site for copies of all guidlines. Students who break these rules will not only have their pages disabled, but they will also fail the larger group project. http://www.winchester.k12.ma.us/technology/technologyinfo.htm
Warning: Theft of Academic Property is serious business.
Students should be careful to avoid plagiarism. Properly document all sources and obey pertinent copyright laws. If material is questionable, it should not be included on the project page.
Resources for Web Construction:
Citing Images: Images must be cited the same way you would cite any other resource, such as a book. The only case in which this is untrue is if you use images that are royalty free/part of the public domain. Such images can be found on the websites linked to below. If you need to cite an image, easybib can make it less of a hassle. #1 Source for public domain images you don't need to cite #2 Source for public domain images you don't need to cite Putting Videos on Your Website: This is simpler than it sounds. The best way is to use a video from Youtube, and under the video information, click on the word embed. This will allow you to select what size you want the video to be on your webpage, and determine a few other settings. Copy and past the link next to the word embed into your website and you are all set. Because the video is still part of youtube, and you are simply linking to youtube directly on your page, you do not need to cite it. Edit: Google Sites makes this even simpler by doing the work for you. Click insert, then select Video, and you will be prompted to type in the url of the video on youtube or google video. |
