Thaknk you for your very nice book! It maybe does not totally adhere to the "lagom-principle", it´s burning a bit... But maybe that is what we need? I especially liked your points made regarding that a state-education can not fit everyone regardless of their religion and philosophical outlook on life. I think that just as there is a value in having the same-schools (the lappish people) so they will have the chance to keep their culture, religion and language, I also want my children to have a base in our culture (the parents culture I mean). To raise children in a kind of neutral way where we should direct them seems strange and dangerous. And I see also see that the swedish school-system is highly inlikely to be able to also fit our believes. Altough we are definitely not some kind of fanatics and teach our children to respect all people regardless of their faith or race.
Only one thing I think was a bit too strongge, and that was the part about that if children does not perform uniformely for their age they are either seen as having problems, or given medicin for exemple (I don´t remember word by word). That might be seen as a bit too hard and not true. (Altough I agree that this is most often the case).
Thank you so much for doing such a wellwritten and well thought out book. Can one spread it around?
Best wishes from Mia Zabolotskaja (23 September 2009)
