Welcome to The students in my class expressed a desire to have their own newspaper this year. We attempted to model our columns after a paper such as the Times Delta. We divided the responsibilities to groups of students and chose four editors to be the first responders to problems their groups might have. We then got to work writing and editing our work. We used Microsoft Publisher for our paper format. The paper version is called "The Bear Bee." While the online version is called, "The Bear Zone." The Bear Zone has really expanded our audience (the world) and given us an unlimited forum to express ourselves. We are really excited about going interactive recently. It really made our authors accountable for what they were writing. It's made them feel a bit vulnerable, yet powerful as writers! With all of this space we are now inviting guest authors from other classes to contribute poetry and short stories to The Bear Zone.
