Homegrown 4H is a 4H group designed for homeschoolers (but we arent exclusively for homeschoolers) Our main group meeting is on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, (2pm at the Bible Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, FL) starting in August or September and going through May. There are a multitude of different opportunities for students in 4H. In 2008-2009, some of the projects we had included Archery, Riflery, Rocketry, Chicken, Rabbit, Community Service, Scrapbooking, Cooking, Public Speaking, Horse, Photography, and Manners, etc. The projects vary from year to year. Projects meet at other times and places as determined by the project leaders. Registration for 4H is open from August 1st through September 30 for the 2009-2010 school year. Participation is for students ages 5 (as of September 1) and up. Students 5-7 are cloverbuds and are not allowed to participate in some projects (mostly shooting sports) but are allowed to participate in other projects as determined by the project leader. The cost is between $7 and $11 per student per year. Some projects require a separate fee and are determined by the project leader. Stacey Hosegood is the Leader for HomeGrown.
