 The St. Bernadette Home and School Association introduced the SCRIP Program to raise money for the programs we fund and to assist parents with tuition expenses. Half of all funds you raise through your participation in the SCRIP program benefit the Home & School Association. The other half can be directed to a tuition credit account, reducing the amount of tuition you have to pay.
You may be wondering, "What is SCRIP?" SCRIP is a word that means substitute money. In our case, SCRIP is gift cards/certificates we purchase at a discount and sell to you at face value. The difference is our profit which we split with you. There is nothing extra to buy or sell to participate. Simply do your regular shopping and pay with SCRIP. The proceeds accumulate and will be held by the Home and School Association and are credited to your account annually, reducing the amount of your tuition payment(s). A statement of your purchases and your percentage earned will be sent home via kidmail quarterly. We make it as easy as possible to purchase SCRIP. We sell it at the in the school hallway on Saturday and Sunday after each mass. You may also order SCRIP during the week and receive it in the SCRIP Envelope via kid mail (with a signed release on file for grades 1-5) or by picking it up in the school office. In-stock certificates will be immediately available; with orders being placed on Mondays at 8:30 am for all other retailers. All orders submitted after that time will automatically be filled the following week with in-stock items being processed at out earliest convenience. In general most SCRIP orders placed prior to the Monday deadline will be returned to you by Wednesday or Thursday of the same week. If you have special circumstances that make these arrangements impossible, please contact a member of the SCRIP committee through the school office, after masses, or email (listed below) so we may help. A complete list of participating retailers is available after masses, in the school office, and at the shopwithscrip.com website. All orders placed on the website will be compiled on Monday morning at 8:30 am. Orders placed after the deadline will be filled the following week. If you would like to enroll in the SCRIP program, send your completed registration form to the school office, send it via kid mail, or drop it off after mass. Sign-up sheets for volunteers to sell SCRIP after each of the masses will be posted on the bulletin board in the school entryway. We always welcome new participants.
