This is a great way to help your child learn the 10 Commandments. We will be practicing this song in class and ask you to practice at home. They students will be singing this at the First Penance Service!
Lesson 3 - Baptism/Sin - This lesson reviews the story of Adam and Eve and original sin. We then focus on Baptism, the first Sacrament of Initiation. We also introduce free will verse instinct and how are actions are a way for us to "yes" or "no" to God.
Lesson 2 - Creation/Original Sin - This lesson highlights God, our Creator, by focusing on the Creation story and two additional dittos. It also introduces the theme of Original Sin.
Lesson 2 - Mary and the Saints - This is a little coloring sheet that goes along with the lesson on Saints. We should encourage every child to be the brightest star they can be!
Lesson 2 - Mary and the Saints - This is the letter that goes along with the coloring sheet. This letter helps sum up the teaching on our own personal journey towards holiness and serving the Lord.
Lesson 3 - Creation/Original Sin - This ditto focuses on God, our Creator. As the children answer these questions they will learn of the great love our Lord has for us and how we can witness this love through the beauty of Creation.
Lessons 5 & 6 - Great Commandments - Jesus gave us the greatest commandment. This ditto helps the children separate the 10 Commandments into those that focus loving the Lord and those that focus on loving our neighbor.
Lesson 2 - Mary and the Saints - A worksheet for the children to work on memorizing the Hail Mary. Fill in the blanks and you have completed the Hail Mary.
Lesson 2 - Mary and the Saints - A coloring sheet wit h the Blessed Mother that includes the Hail Mary. This is a great way to get the children started reciting the Hail Mary.
Lesson 3 - Creation/Original Sin - After learning about what the Lord created and His great love for us, the children are asked to write God a letter thanking HIm for His gift of Creation.
Lesson 1 - Mary and the Saints - This lesson highlights the Blessed Mother and her role in the Church as well as the other holy men and women of God. By their example, we encourage the children to strive towards holiness and greatness in all they do. *For those who don't already know the Hail Mary, we introduce this prayer tonight. If the children don't already know this prayer, they should start working on it!
Lesson 3 - Creation/Original Sin - This ditto should be used directly after reading the story of Creation. This ditto highlights some of the things the Lord created and explains how they differ from us humans.
Lesson 4 - Baptism/Sin - This is a great ditto that helps children understand how their actions can be a "yes" or "no" to God either by the things we do or the things we fail to do.
Lesson 6 - Sin/10 Commandments - This ditto is a fill in the blanks with the 10 Commandments. Once again, all these worksheets are designed to help the children remember these important laws of God.
Lesson 6 - Sin/10 Commandments - To make sure the children really know the 10 Commandments this last ditto encourages them to write the commandments in their own words. This can be done as a class encouraging class discussion and participation!
