Frequently Asked Questions...

Is my child automatically registered to receive the Sacraments if they are enrolled in Religious Education classes or attending Holy Family School?

No, just because your child is enrolled in Religious Education classes or attending Holy Family school does not mean they are registered to receive the Sacraments. You need to fill out the First Penance/Communion form and return it to the Religious Education Office. This form can be located in the Folder from Parent's Meeting and is titled Registration Form.

Can my child still make their Sacraments if we are not registered members of the Church of the Holy Family?

Yes, but we ask for a letter from your Pastor giving his blessing for your child to receive these Sacraments at our Church. If you are not currently registered at a parish we encourage and welcome you to join our Church Family. You can find registration forms at the Church's main website under Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which Instructional Liturgy my child is required to attend?

The children are require to attend five Instructional Liturgies before their First Communion. Since we have such a large sacramental group, we divide them into two groups for the 8:45am or 12:15pm masses. Your child is assigned to a mass time based on class and teacher. To locate your child's mass time, please refer to the God's Time sheet. The God's Time sheet can be found as an attachment below.

What if I need to attend the other scheduled Instructional Liturgy one weekend?

Please call in and let us know if for some reason you need to change you child's scheduled mass for any of the required weekends. We will make sure to have a name tag available at the mass they plan on attending.

There are two dates for First Communion, which one will my child be scheduled for? Do I have any say in it?

Our scheduled dates for First Communion are Saturday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 9th. At the next Parent's Meeting, you will have the opportunity to choose which date you would prefer. If you return the form to us that evening or shortly after, you are guaranteed the date you selected. If we fail to receive that form, we will choose a date for your child.
