Lucy Noelle was born about 10 days early, after 36 hours of labor. She is happy and healthy and already has her parents wrapped around her tiny little finger. She spends most of her time sleeping and nursing, though occasionally she wakes up to look at the world around her. She seems to love music just as much as she did before she was born. She recognizes some of the lullabies her mama sang to her on a regular basis and will often stop crying immediately upon hearing them.

Loree and Monica, the doulas, took excellent care of both mama and dad during the long labor. Adam and Holly couldn't be happier with the help and encouragement that was provided (and highly recommend them to anyone planning on having a baby).

Adam's brother happened to be in town the weekend Lucy was born and was able to be the first in the family to meet her. He also was a big help during the labor, making sure Adam got food, checking in on the cats, and playing music on his guitar (which he made himself) for Holly, which really helped her relax.

Mama and Lucy stayed in the hospital for 3 nights (and Dad was allowed to spend the night with them). Now the whole family is home. The cats are very confused by the small, noisy "thing" but are coping better than expected. Lucy is doing great and is very much loved by her parents. (To the right is a picture of Daddy reading The Fellowship of the Ring to Lucy. It's never too early to become a fan of good books!)
