The Writer's Life at Hollins University

Welcome to the The Writer's Life, a site devoted to providing a glimpse of what it's like to live and work at the historic campus of Hollins University, home to the Jackson Center for Creative Writing.

Since its creation more than 50 years ago, the Creative Writing program continues to fulfill the goals of its founder, Louis D. Rubin, Jr.:  To nurture and encourage the finest writers in the nation. With a roster of noteworthy alums and publications too weighty to fit here, it's no wonder the Creative Writing program inspires such praise as "pound for pound the most productive writing program in America," (from Creative Writing in America).

So stick around, find out who we are, what we've been up to—we might be just what you've been looking for.
