A place for teachers to present ideas for balance and 'self time' both for students and for ourselves

Many of us are too quick to talk about the merits and shortcomings of others, but for clear reasons we're seldom around to hear other's perceptions and criticisms of US. Barring the "critical friend", we really are left to our own devices to monitor who we really are - how we present ourselves to others, and how that compares to what we'd like to become.
The Water team chose to explore self-awareness as part of holistic
education. This includes ways that teachers can become more self aware
and ways that teachers can facilitate student self-awareness. In the
following links you'll find information and ideas about self-awareness
related to: poetry, art, yoga, and music.
Self awareness involves
both an awareness of one's own existence but also the ability to
recognize our unique inner selves. There are many paths toward self
awareness, they often include the use of the imagination and
creativity, the exploration of the soul through reflection and
meditation, and being in touch with our hopes and dreams.
We hope that the ideas presented here will help you and your students as you move toward greater self awareness.
