1. Teachers registered their classroom beginning November 1, 2008. 2. 24 cards can be created in advance. (click here for card ideas) Information ON THE BACK of the card needs to include: a. The name of the school which is sending the card. b. The location (city/state, province, or country) where the card is being mailed from c. Name of teacher d. Contact Email address (for confirmation of card being received) Any other information (pictures, school/city history, weather, etc) is encouraged but not mandatory. OPTION: If the teacher wishes, email cards can be sent to members on your group list. Check the resource page for ideas. 3. On or before December 2nd, the teacher received an excel document with the other classroom's addresses within their group. How they addressed the envelopes, by hand or create labels, was up to the teacher's discretion. 4. On or before December 8th, all cards needed to be mailed out. If the classroom created over sized cards, extra postage needed to be taken into consideration. 5. Once the class sent their cards, they needed to place the class PLACEMARK into Google Earth and send Jennifer the KMZ file. (click here for tutorial) A Certificate of participation was sent to all schools who sent in their Google Earth KMZ file. 6. Classrooms should have begun receiving your cards by the 11th of December. Classrooms were encouraged to mark the location of cards on either a bulletin board, within google maps, or create your own google earth tour. 7. Create a bulletin board, an online photo album, webpage, etc to showcase the cards you have received!! This project is now OVER!
