Breaking News:
I've finally got around to figuring out how you can leave comments. I'm sure the hours I've spent doing it so Craiga can leave a threatening message to the league will be well worth it. Once you leave a message you have to refresh the site and wait a second for it to show up.
I present "The Gutter"...

Bowler of the Week
Q (see match recap)
While he didn't exactly stink up the joint, there's a small hint that the bowler of the week curse is alive and well. Deej was 50 pins worse following last week's honors. And no, that had nothing to do with the fact that Q won it this week and my team is playing Q's team next week. As far as you know. Shhhh....
Match Recaps
1. Q def Gray 5-0
And then there were none. Reminds me of the old Herald bit where there was the high school football bus with the undefeated teams listed and the previous weeks losers getting tossed off the bus...
As the saying goes, Any Given Thursday! The 0-2 Q squad takes down the 2-0 Graydo's. Q had the bye week previous to Turkey Day and took Dunn, Dego, and Boofa on the Duck Tour Boats. He wanted them to get familiar with parade route. They must have liked what they saw! Then they had a mandatory team meeting at the Hoffy last night. Best team chemistry in the league. Unlike these guys...
2. Dorsey def Deej 5-0
After an opening week lost, Team Dorsey has run off 3 straight wins including this weeks whitewash of Deej. Maybe it was just Deej, Bry Dunn, and Walshy feeling bad about last Saturday and wanting Marky Robertson to get a win at something! Or maybe it was the return of M. Hawes to the HBL, replacing his 85 average with a 95 average this week. Or maybe it was not having emotional leader T. Hawes to outduel his brother. Or maybe it was the team-high 1142, and it would have beaten anyone on this night. Yeah, I'll take that reasoning over Deej's team being the in holiday spirit and giving up a win.
3. Baggett def Sean 3-2
Once again Szabo has to carry Baggett to a victory. His single-high 123 in the 2nd string was the difference in this one. It was the only string they won, but they did so by 36 pins and held on for an overall advantage of 16. Dwyer had a 87 (just below his average), Burgio had an 87, and James had a 70 in the pivotal string wasting Sean's 105. So, while there are no undefeated teams left at least we have the winless team keeping the streak alive! Keith was home with the swine flu.
4. Kane def Loud
Loud is a coward, let me just get that out of the way. He pulled a no-show. D. Galligan tried to be late so he wouldn't have to witness this drubbing (OK, we only won 3-2 but that's not the point). And Lallis may have well stayed home. Shawba was the only reason this was even close. 117-89-101 for a total of 307. The first rookie to etch his name in the 300 club, Congrats! C. McPartlin came through big when we needed him. Trailing by 22 entering the final string, his 111 lead the comback charge and we easily came away with the W. Nutley is much better in the Polar Cleansing video than he is in the lanes. There, I said it.
Bowl-Off
This had all the makings of a Mr. Mom lay down. And don't act like you haven't seen the movie either, I know you have. You remember the part where Michael Keaton is at his wife's company party and enters the obstacle course race. The problem is the big boss wins the race every year. You just don't beat the boss at his party at his house, you know what I mean. Well, M. Hawes is Michaeal Keaton (team member) and J. Dorsey is the big boss (captain). I'm not saying Marky tripped at the finish line on purpose or anything, but he did get 8 on the first ball and couldn't get another one after that. Hmmm. Again, I'm not suggesting anything. I'm just here to put the facts out. Talk amongst yourselves....
