Hockly Plumbers was established in 1977 by Peter Hockly. It has served both the commercial and domestic plumbing sectors in the Wellington region throughout its 30 years of operation. Hockly Plumbers is now owned and managed by John Garratt. John has over 18 years experience in plumbing, drain laying, and gasfitting acquired from working alongside Peter. He is a registered Craftsman Gas fitter, Craftsman Plumber and Drain layer. Hockly Plumbers currently employees 6 full time operations staff, an Office Manager and part-time Health and Safety Officer. Hockly Plumbers has an exceptional service record as can be attested by its past and present clients, many who have been using the company for well over 10 years. A couple of recent projects of note include the fit out of Wellington's successful Mojo Cafe's, work in the Wellington International Airport, and the major upgrade of rainwater systems in the iconic Mackenzie Building on Willis St in central Wellington. Mission Statement We will provide the highest quality plumbing craftsmanship, while maintaining a professional, reliable and friendly service. Environmental sustainability Hockly Plumbers is committed to using products which are, whenever possible, environmentally sustainable. When installing new materials we are conscious of minimising waste. Use of chemicals is kept to a minimum whenever possible and we stay abreast of technological shifts towards environmentally sustainable products and procedures. Specific policies: • We recycle all unused metals including copper, steel and brass. • Our office has a strict recycling policy and separates all paper, plastics, organic and non-recyclable materials. • We restrict the use of industrial chemical products to a minimum. Community involvement Hockly Plumbers is an active member and supporter of local and international groups and charities. In 2007 and 2008 we were involved with: • Financially assisting the building of a Fiji girls' orphanage. • Contributing to the Wellington City Mission Food Bank Programme • World Vision sponsorship and assistance of Wellington College’s fund-raising programme for this organisation. We actively encourage a social conscience within the company. |
