What is World Orphan Week?
World Orphan Week (WOW) is a volunteer-led awareness and  fundraising event.  That means we rely on people who participate in all kinds of different ways to make WOW a success!

The United Nations Millennium Development Goal on reversing the spread of AIDS identifies the following targets:

1) Halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV/AIDS

2) Halt and begin to reverse the incidence of malaria and other major diseases

According to UNICEF, 12 million children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa alone.
