Beginning-Of-Year Handouts

Contact Miss Nelson

I return calls/emails/texts within two business days.

Email:  sarcnelson@yahoo.com
Phone:  916.217.1207

Please do not contact me on my school voicemail.  That number only allows you to leave voicemails, and I do not check it on a regular basis.  Using my personal email address is best; using my personal cell phone number is 2nd best.

Having problems opening the files on this website?

If you are getting garbled text and/or error messages when you try to open files from this website, it's most likely because you do not have the new version of Microsoft Office (2007 or 2008, depending on your operating system).  It's easy to fix this.  You just need to download and install a patch that allows older versions of Office to open and use the new file versions.

If you use Windows:
  • Go here and download the .exe file.
  • Install it.
If you use Mac OS X:
  • Go here and download the .dmg file.
  • Install it.

Welcome.
Congratulations!  You are now at what I'm sure will become on of the most helpful websites you visit this year.  Chances are you are one of my students and you need to find out what we're doing in class and/or locate a wayward assignment or handout.  If so, you've come to the right place.  If not, you've still come to the right place, you just don't realize it yet.

To find visit your class's website, look to the left and click on the link for your particular class (U.S. history or AP World History).

Miss Bockwinkel's Website

Bored?
The newest page on this website is dedicated specifically to you.  I'm trying to compile any and all of the interesting and relevant (and sometimes just funny) videos, radio shows, websites and articles that we don't have time to discuss or use in class.  Check it out! And if you ever have something you deem worthy of being posted on the website, send me the link and some info about it and I just might post it here.

Help Your Classroom!
As I'm sure you're aware, Vanden High School has been suffering from budget problems for several years now. I buy almost all of the classroom materials - including most of the technology - with my own money. If you want to help out, there are several ways to do so:
  • Visit the classroom's Amazon.com wishlist.
  • We can always use printer paper (plain and colorful!).
