Welcome to the Hilton Head Fishing Report.  My name is Charlie Fraser and I grew up on Hilton Head and have been a "River Rat" since I was old enough to take the family bateau for a spin.  Our bateau had a 6 HP Envirude engine and would go about 20 mph, but it was built by a true craftsman from Hinesville, GA.  He was in the employ of my father, Joe Fraser, and built the bateau for Dad.  Later we had a 13' & 16' Boston Whalers.  I moved up to the 13' Whaler and had freedom.  Living on an island, I could get to many of the places I wanted to go with the Whaler.  As a teenagerour 16' Whaler was out all summer long either shark fishing or water skiing.  Dad had several larger boats starting with a 25" Betrum flybridge, named "Wee Seven", and later a 45' Chris Craft sport fishing boat named the "Salty Faire".  My Dad would wake us at 2:00 AM to go fishing for kings, dolphin, sails, marlin, and bottom fishing for snapper & grouper.  I was lucky to have the early childhood fishing and sailing with my Dad.  He taught me how to fish inshore and offshore.

Today, I am teaching my son Elliott how to do the same things.  We have a great boat for running offshore or back in the creeks.  An Everglades 24 Bay Boat.    Pictured (below) in the boat is my wife Linda getting ready for the fireworks at Hilton Head Boathouse where we keep the boat in dry storage.    Additional Photos: Linda and Clay with tuna fishing out of Moorehead, NC , Linda with redfish caught in Mosquito Lagoon, FL. Charlie, Linda & Charlene with Linda's winning trout at the Dottie Dunbar Fishing Tournament, and a Gulf Stream fishing photo with the Bowen family.

Our two children Elliott and Carson are now in college, so Linda and I will be fishing more and I will be posting information about "Fishing in the Lowcountry"  So come back and visit my site.
