Why Choose Hillside Child Care?

Specialized infant/toddler license which few daycare people have.  This license requires an extra 45 hours of class.  Licensed since 2002.

 

Maximum of 4 children in care means more individualized care, more nurturing which is important for young children.  Also fewer germs, less sickness, and therefore healthier kids.

 

Separate sleeping areas for all children so they can sleep and wake without being disturbed by others.

 

Whole house intercom in each room to hear sleeping children.

 

Over 1200 square feet of space dedicated to child care.  Full basement and part of main level are used for daycare.  Lots of room to play.

 

All organic milk served.  Lunch is provided with some organic food and snacks served.  Wipes provided.

 

Experienced mother of 14 year old daughter.  Summer and after school hours, daughter helps with daycare and it’s like having 2 instructors, and a ratio of 1 teacher to 2 children.  Daughter has Red Cross Babysitter Certification and CPR training.

 

Large yard with secure swing set, playhouse, slides, toys.

 

Toddler curriculum stimulates young minds.  Monthly theme with daily lessons, arts and crafts, reading, music, dance.  Toddlers learn about animals and animal sounds, colors, shapes, letters, numbers.

 

Children learn about pets, especially cats, and learn important skills on how to be gentle.  Small age range of children in child care, children mentor and teach each other, toddlers learn about babies and are ready when families have a baby.

 

Extra liability insurance added to homeowner’s insurance policy protects children and me.  Radon test recently completed and levels are low and safe.  Carbon monoxide detector is in use as well as smoke detectors.
