The asset map includes a physical map and two presentations aimed at bringing attention to the map and the Hill itself. The first step of this project was to find out what the Hill District's different assets are. After visits to the neighborhood and interviews with community leaders, we made a list of assets. We then divided the assets among the seminar members to visit and research, take pictures and videos, and interview people involved with the assets resulting in a short write-up of each asset. After the field work was done, the next job was to compile the information into one final product. This included placing the assets on a map and constructing the website. Our hope is that this website will remain available to all so that anyone in the future who is interested in the Hill District will have this valuable information readily to use. The two project presentations help bring attention to the project, which, as a whole, will hopefully raise awareness of the many positive aspects of Pittsburgh's Hill District. |
