Google SketchUp - FINAL PROJECT
For the final project you can either: - Create a real building: Find a picture of a real building online. Recreate the building TO SCALE as exactly as possible, including all windows/doors, surface colors/textures, etc. Building must done to real dimensions (you can guess what you think the size of the building is: Doors are usually 3' wide, a floor is 10'-12' high, etc.). You do not have to do interior rooms. Suggestion: you might have a look at some castles.
- Design a room: Create a room TO SCALE complete with door(s) and window(s). Create furniture (you can find pictures of furniture online to guide you) like a desk, tables, lamps, etc. Add in objects (books, ipod, art, etc.). Room and all objects must be done using real dimensions. Do NOT use already-made components - all work must be your own (exception: you can put in people from the component library).
Google SketchUp - 4
Do the exercise (creating a column, turning it into a component, making an array (long line) of them) in the SketchUp-4 video. Add in some additional components from the file's component library to make a scene. Make another component of your own and make at least 10 copies of it in a row. Google SketchUp - 3
Open the Sketchup-3-Assignment video that is located in the same folder as SketchUp-3. This is a video from Google which explains how to make 2 different chairs. Watch the video and make the 2 chairs inside of one new file. Name the file "yourname-sketchup3" and put it in the Assignments folder. Google SketchUp - 2
Using the Line tool, draw the floorplan of the main school building (as
best you remember.) Do the outer walls, leaving gaps for the doors,
then do the inner rooms. Make sure that edges are aligned and all lines
are on the X and Y axes (ie. when you draw them they are on the red or
green axes). Bonus: add in the grounds and new building.
Put a copy of the file with your name in it in the Assignments folder. Google SketchUp - 1
Design your dream house. Do as much as you can do within the given time. I want to see a lot of different kinds of shapes and colors/textures on the objects. Put in doors and windows if you can. Photoshop Mini-ProjectPick
one or more of the following Photoshop projects to work on during class
today (Friday) and next Monday. If you finish one, begin work on
another. I will grade you on the quality and complexity of the work
that you turn in (i.e. I would rather have one well done project than
three poorly done projects). Work should be saved with your name
in the file-name and placed in the Photoshop folder under Assignments.
If you submit more than one project, use a folder. Projects should be 8" x 10" at a resolution of 200 ppi. - Design a Movie Poster. Can be for a real or imaginary movie.
- Illustrate a Poem. Poem can be yours or one you have found (must cite the author if it's not yours).
- Create
a PostCard from an imaginary place. Assemble pictures of buildings,
people, animals, cars, etc. to create an imaginary landscape.
- Political
Cartoon. Using images of politicians, create a "cartoon" that makes a
political statement (content must be appropriate).
- Design a Web
Site. This would be the Home page (the page that users would go to
first). Website can be on a subject of your choosing. Site should
include buttons for going to different page in the site. You could even
include fictional advertisements.
