We have sent mares to Lanciano (GER) each of the years that he has been covering TB mares. His pedigree says that he was born to be a sire; from a female family that has produced significant sires, especially from the Dark Ronald sire line, and being a son of the proven sire of sires Surumu (GER). From Lanciano's immediate family is the proven French/German stallion Lando (GER), who happens to be by Surumu's (GER) son Acatenango (GER).

Lanciano's front running racing style indicates a natural turn of foot that we hope he will pass along to his offspring. Although German racing has declined in quality in recent decades, winning a G2 race is still not an easy feat. Additionally, he also raced as a 2yo, indicating he may not be the slow maturing type that is the impression many people have of European horses

An additional consideration is the stringent standards that the Germans place on stallions before they can breed means that German bred horses have a depth of quality genes that are often not present in stallions from other breeding programs. This is not to say we believe Lanciano (GER) is a sure thing as a sire of racehorses, only that we believe that he offers alot of genetic potential.

The mare was multiple stakes placed at 2 and her first foals to the track have been honest racehorses. This family is a fast maturing family and most of them run at 2. Sizzano, her 3yo of 2009 was sufficiently mature to race at 2, but had sustained an injury that caused us to not push her too hard.

Mr. Armstrong, whom we call Lance, is well mannered and easy to work with.  He is training at Northlands Park and has worked down the lane a couple of times.  He will probably have an official work soon.  Even with a heavy rider up he has shown that he is strong enough to handle weight shifts of the rider very well while moving over uneven terrain.  His large frame gives him a long stride that allows him to really cover ground even at a canter.  On April 25, 2010 he was measured at 16.2hh.
