Introduction
Welcome to Highvale Stables web space. We are a small family owned and operated partnership breeding and racing Thoroughbreds. We are located in the Highvale region of west central Alberta, about 40 miles west of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
We are focused on producing sound healthy horses that will have long productive careers after their racing days are over. Most of the fillies that we raise, will race in our colours, most of the colts will be offered for sale.
We are currently offering Mr. Armstrong, a dkb or br gelding, foaled in 2008, by Lanciano (GER) out of Chante Chanz (Full Partner). His catalogue page and additional information can be viewed under the catalogue section of the webpage, a few photos are under the photo section.
Currently we have about 6 mares that we consider worthy as broodmares. Usually, but not always, we do not breed a mare when she has a foal at her side so we don't have nearly as many foals every year as we could.
It is important for us to work with the young foals in their first couple of months. Training them when they are small enough to manhandle is vastly preferable to fighting with them when they are big enough to seriously hurt you. If a mare isn't worth carrying for a year without producing a foal, she isn't worth breeding in the first place. Not everyone is going to be interested in our horses but we're not producing them for the meat market, we're producing them to be the best they can be.
