High Styx Mission

The Will Has To Be Greater Than The Skill

Our Mission - For 16 Straight Years

High Styx's mission is to provide year-round field hockey training for the serious student athlete. We do this by teaching proper mechanics, techniques and strategies and by promoting respect for the players, coaches, umpires and spectators.

High Styx creates successful student athletes by focusing on...

  • Solid Team Leadership
  • Individual Skill Development and Conditioning
  • Spirited Team Play
  • Participation in both Indoor and Outdoor Events
  • Tournament Participation at Regional and National Levels

Success on the field and in the classroom. In addition to regional, state and national recognition of their field hockey accomplishments, High Styx players also excell in the classroom... 22 former High Styx student-athletes were named to the Collegiate National Academic Squad by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association for maintaining a 3.3 or better grade point for the 2009/2010 academic year.

High Styx is a non-profit organization. No one at High Styx receives a salary. Fees for practices and tournaments are shared equally by the players participating in the event.

Players must be current members of the United States Field Hockey Association.  High Styx does not discriminate against anyone based upon Race, Creed, Religion or National Origin; however, the High Styx Field Hockey Club has gender and age restrictions for its tournament team participation. All players must abide by the High Styx Code of Conduct and must understand that participation in High Styx and programs of the United States Field Hockey Association (USFHA) is a privilege.
