High Styx is a premier field hockey club team made up of some of the
most talented Junior High School and High School players from
Southeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
The Club's U14, U16 and U19 teams compete year-round in both outdoor and indoor Regional and National Tournaments. Major tournaments that the club participates in annually include: the National Hockey Festival; the NIT Qualifiers and the National Indoor Tournament, the Disney Field Hockey Showcase, USA Field Hockey National Club Championship. Finishing 4th in 2011.
Since 1996, High Styx has been the training grounds for some of field hockey’s most talented international, national, and collegiate players. High Styx most famous former player is GK Amy Tran, All-American graduate of UNC, and current goalkeeper for the US Olympic and World Cup Team along with her back up GK Jackie Kintzer, member of the 2012 Olympic team, member of the 2011 Gold Medal Pam Am team, member of the 2010 USA World Cup Team, U21 National Team, 2008 Jr. Pan Am Team and the 2009 Junior World Cup Team, & NCAA champion while at UNC; Rayell Heistand, member of the 2010 Junior National Team, U21 National Team and the 2009 Jr. World Cup Team; and GK Megan Botteri, member of the 2008/2011US Women’s National Indoor Team and Bronze Medal winner at 2010 Pan Am Indoor Games.
High Styx also has had numerous players who have participated in the Junior Olympics include: Kelsey Hunsicker, Brooke Sands, Kelsi Lykens, and Chloe Pachuilo.
Beyond High Styx - In addition to national and international recognition, more than 60 players have graduated from the High Styx Program in the past three years and have moved on to play field hockey at every level of NCAA competition.
