Local Scenery

This is the start of the gorge in Robert Treman State Park, which is only about a mile from my
house. This shot was taken from inside the gorge, looking out. It's a really beautiful place to walk
in the woods, next to the creek, or climb hundreds of steps if you're in the mood for exercise - far
more stimulating than a "stairmaster"! The Ithaca area has many gorges similar to this one, but
Robert Treman is my favorite.

 Another shot from Treman park.

A section of the trail near the creek. I like the way that tree clings to the rocks.

The next two shots are of the same water fall, named Lucifer Falls. It's too huge to fit in one
picture, and they still don't do it justice...

One last shot from Treman State Park.

This barn is about a mile from my house and it's getting restored. Old barns rule!

Typical view from a typical road near my place.

I kinda wish that house was mine, but it's the neighbors'. They did a great job restoring this historic
old house. Good people too.

A patch of wild Phlox. When they show up, it's definitely Spring!

A water fall at another local gorge. Took a lot of  time to carve that hole....

Another typical scene in the summer. Lots of water, lots of vegetation, and lots of clean fresh air...

Some "wild" turkeys that were hanging out by the side of the road. They didn't even increase their pace when I
stopped to take their picture. They just casually walked single file into that field of Goldenrod. Wild turkeys
used to be a rare sight in this area, but now I see them quite often. I much prefer shooting animals with a camera
over a gun...
