THE TRAINING TOWER:

Students will conduct
 
Search and Rescue, 
 
Simulated Fire Attack, 
 
Laddering, Ventilation,
 
Physical Training and
 
Repelling at this location.

The Instructors:
 

The class is taught by two current firefighters with the City of Bloomington Fire Department.  Each firefighter works a 24 hours shift.  While one firefighter is on duty, the other is teaching.  When both firefighters are off, both instruct at the Fire Science Program.

 
Captain Stephen Coover
 
has been a firefighter for
 
19 years.  He has been a
 
member of the
 
Bloomington Fire
 
Department for 14 years.
 
He is Assigned to the
 
Headquarters Fire
 
Station on Truck 1.  He
 
received a Bachlor's 
 
Degree from
 
Indiana University in
 
Criminal Justice.
 
Captain Robert Sears has
 
been a firefighter for 15
 
years.  He has been a
 
memeber of the
 
Bloomington Fire
 
Department for 11 years.
 
He is Assigned to the
 
University Station on
 
Engine 3.  He received
 
an Associate's Degree
 
from Ivy Tech in Fire
 
Science.
