  • Your next seminar will be March 6th, from 9-3. For those of you who took the GACE in January please bring a copy of your score report for your folder. 
  • You need to administer your student surveys if you teach on a block schedule or will be getting new students in January. These forms are on the TAPP webpage.
  • The January 30th seminar will be from 9-3. Please correct your professional leave form if you have already turned one in. You will work with Flora on differentiation that morning and with us that afternoon on Year 2 Portfolios.
  • Don't forget your Year 1 portfolios are due Nov. 2nd. Also, have you taped yourself this semester??? You also must have 4 mentor observations by the end of this semester. You should have a total of 16 if you count last year's 12 that should have been done. If you will not have 16 then you have some catching up to do!!!
  • Dana's husband fell out of a deer stand and broke his ankle/leg on Sat. Oct. 13th. He has had surgery. Please remember their family in your prayers.
  • GACE Workshop at Valdosta State University on Sept. 27th. 
  • Observations have begun. When I come to observe I want to see your lesson plans for that week so please have them ready.
  • Donna & I have decided that we want portfolios brought back to us on Nov. 2nd at the next TAPP seminar. We want ALL of your Year 1 documentation to be in the portfolio. This is an all day meeting on differentiation. We will evaluate your portfolios and return them to you before you leave for the day.  
  • I have looked over your portfolio assessment sheets. You need to make sure you go back and complete documentation for Year 1. For Tabs 17-29, you will have to have documentation for Year 1 and Year 2. Do not wait until the end of this year to try and recreate Year 1. Start on this ASAP!!! 
  • Pray for Donna. She fell and broke her ankle Sat. nite and will be out at least 4 weeks. 
  • Do you have your videos and portfolio ready for next week's seminar??? 
  • Check with your mentors and see if they have registered for the mandatory mentor training. If they did not register for Aug. 21st they can come on Aug. 29th. If they attended our training back in January they do not have to attend this one. 
  • The Exceptional Child Course will be taught at GLRS in Dublin starting in Sept. The course dates are: Sept. 6, 13, 22, 27; Oct. 4,11,13,18,25; Nov. 1,8,10,15. This is a total of 14 days including 3 Saturday classes. The hours are: 4:30-7:30 every Thursday & 8:30am-1:30pm on Saturdays. You MUST have this class in order to be certified. The phone number to register is 478-275-3666. Deadline to register is Sept. 3. The cost is $300. You may take this course at another RESA or at a college.
  • There is a mistake in your Seminar Letter. The March 1st date should be March 6th. 
  • The first seminar of the 07-08 school year will be held August 28, from 9-12 here at HGRESA. You will need to bring your portfolio and copies of your videotapes (VHS, VHS-C, or DVD format only) from last year. Mark your calendars now and request professional leave. We will send you a letter to remind you. Check the 07 TAPP Things to Remember. We have updated a few things.
     -If you have a new mentor please       send this information to Dana by       this Friday, Aug. 10th. 
  • Things we need before you leave for the summer: 1. Candidate Disposition form completed by your administrator 2. Candidate Disposition form completed by your mentor (this form is on the forms page) 3. Copy of your Action Plan (one for each domain-this form is also on the forms page) 4.  Copy of your Annual Evaluation Summary Report *Please send or fax these to Dana's attention.
  • Have you surveyed your students this semester?? Time is running out for some of you. You can find the forms on our website. If your school has a survey that it administers then use that survey to put in your portfolio. 
  • If you missed any seminars this year, please contact us about making them up. 
  • Don't forget to send Dana a copy of your Annual Evaluation Summary Report before the end of school. 
  • If you need to sign up for any classes make sure you take care of registering ASAP.
  • If you need the Exceptional Child class to fulfill your special Georgia requirement, it will be offered this summer June 18-29, 2007 from 4-9 pm at the Hillcrest Service Center/GLRS in Dublin. You may go to the HGRESA web page and click on the Professional Learning tab on the left hand side. This will take you to the Professional Learning page. Click on the Professional Learning heading and this will take you to a listing of courses. Scroll down until you find the course listed as Identification and Education of Exceptional Children. Click on this course and follow the instructions for registering. The deadline for registering is June 10th.
  • All of you need to make sure you have copies of everything from your mentor before you leave for the summer i.e. mentor logs, observation forms, etc. I know some of you have mentors who maybe retiring or leaving while some of you may be changing schools. It is important that you do not wait until the end of school to get your documentation from them. 
  • The 07 TAPP Seminar will be Monday, May 7th at 1pm. Please bring us a copy of your Annual Evaluation Summary Report. If you are not sure what this form is please ask your administrator about it. It is part of your GTEP. Make sure you have requested professional leave for this day. 
  • If you know that you need the Exceptional Child class, please let Dana know ASAP. You can send her an email to let her know. Her email link is at the bottom of this page. 
  • The Teaching of Reading and Writing class that some of you need for certification (check your ICP) will be taught June 4-8 and June 11-12 here at RESA from 8am-4pm. The cost is $300. You can register online at the HGRESA home page. Click on the professional learning tab located on the left hand side. 
  • GACE Score reports need to be sent to Dana to put in your file.
  • Make sure all outstanding forms have been turned in to Dana. You were given a list of missing information at your last seminar. 
  •  Upcoming GACE Test Dates: May 19 & August 4


 

07 TAPP Things to Remember: 

  • Eight mentor observations (4 per semester) must be completed this year: you should have 20 total at the end of the two years.
  • Two administrator observations using the extended GTOI by the end of the first year; remind them if necessary.
  • Seminar Dates:  

    Aug. 28, 9-12

    Nov. 2, 9-3

    Jan. 30, 9-3

    Mar. 6, 9-3 

     

  • Fulfilling the requirements of your ICP (Individual Certification Plan).
  • Videotaping: For your second year you will need to tape 1 full lesson each semester and  complete the  proper forms for documentation.
  • Five full days of field experiences: You need to have completed at least 2 or 3 of these your first year. Do not wait and do them all your last year.
  •  Observed master teachers: one per semester at your school during your planning period; document on the Year One Observations of and by the Candidate form and discuss with your mentor and have them log it on the mentor log. 
  • Completed an action plan for each of the four domains.
