Welcome to Hernán A. Bruno's website

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. I teach the Marketing core course to MBA students and short modules in Executive Programs. I also teach a few sessions on hands-on empirical modeling to doctoral students. Before joining INSEAD I was a faculty member at the Erasmus School of Economics, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

I spend most of my time doing quantitative research in Marketing. My PhD dissertation work at London Business School dealt with empirical and strategic issues related to assortment decisions by retail stores. I am currently studying pricing behavior and dynamics in business-to-business markets.

I cannot say that becoming a marketing scientist was my childhood dream. I don't know what my childhood dream was, but I guess scoring this goal comes close. Only later in life did I learn that I could become a marketing scientist. It was not one of those typical things children of my generation were told we could become when we grow up. Marketing science is a great field to be in: There are so many things that have not been invented yet!

The picture in this page is a good example of how INSEAD faculty members spend their days. We have enormous windows that look onto the Fontainebleau forest, and cute little green cups where we carry around our espresso. We work long hours writing papers, estimating statistical models, developing theories, preparing lectures, and meeting with students. I have many reasons to think that INSEAD is indeed the best business school in the world. Overall, I must say, life here is great*.

Like Charlize Theron, Tiger Woods, David Beckham, Kate Winslet, Enrique Iglesias, and Angelina Jolie, I was born in 1975. Unlike them, I am not famous (yet). That is perhaps the reason why I get fewer visitors to my webpage than Tiger or Charlize. Thanks for visiting, you are special.

This site under construction will host some information about me and other resources. One day this page will be full of business insights, witty remarks, groundbreaking papers, and perhaps a long list of awards and achievements. Until I figure out how to do this, please visit my current INSEAD webpage, where you can find more information about me and my contact details.

*I happen to enjoy France, forests, coffee, and working a lot.
