Googlist Makes a Page

...aaaaaaand we're back to Geocities, kids.

Welcome to the weirdness.  Here we have what seems to be a WYSIWIG page generator with a variety of Blogger-clone layouts.  Would be nice if this integrated with Blogger to make static pages as well as WYSIWIG layouts for blogs... to come perhaps?

First impressions--Typing things in is rather annoying.  It's a Microsoft Publisher looking interface with dynamically expanding/contracting text boxes, ugly serif fonts, and unnecessary use of italics.  We'll see how this goes...

Hm...can we get some table/div padding on this box here?  It's looking really crowded with the text bleeding all the way to the edge of this grey box.

What is this thing?

Ipsum lorem blah blah blah!  Page Creator tells me all that crap goes here.  What I'd really like to know is will Google let me edit the raw HTML so that I can change the overuse of expanded character spacing in the CSS in the page heading font?  Hm.  Ah, aha!  I see an "edit HTML" option.  Excuse me while I WYSI my way out of this WIG.

Ah, It's for Dolts

In the above paragraph, I made a "link."  Took about 7 more steps than it does for me to type the a href syntax myself into a text file.  Google also explains what a link is and where one might find one of these while browsing.  This Page Creator seems geared towards grandmothers and the MySpace generation.

Ack!  "Google has the hiccups."  I just got an error while making this page.  I'll be posting that screenshot to the blog for sure...

Stay tuned for more updates and revelations.
