Erwin

Behold Our Car...

Meet our lowly 1991 BMW 318is, Erwin.  He's named after one of the father's of uncertainty, Erwin Schrödinger.   Other than a questionable differential (and 2.93 gears), paint like brushed aluminum, 300000 miles on the original engine, an oil leak or two, and assorted emission issues, he's not such a bad little car.  He's also just about due for a profile gasket.  Thanks to a brilliant design by BMW, the engine in this fine automobile is susceptible to catastrophic failure at 50000 mile intervals...making the M42 powered 318's truly LeMon's worthy.  To sweeten the deal a bit, it was purchased with added features like 3 unpaid parking tickets in the glove box and a sack of gravel in the back seat.  Actually, it runs and drives pretty well...like 10000000000000000X better than other sub $500 death traps we've driven.  The interior is pretty decent too...and will be sold to offset the cost of a few repairs.  The cage is on order too!!  I still kind of wish the woman would have called us back about the Merkur XR4Ti...
