My first link is to a site that I came across with some fun examples of social networking sites for kids. I know that lots of you are on Facebook and that your kids may be or want to be. It is important that you know that Facebook is not appropriate for children under the age of 13 - I know, they are going to hate me for saying that! But it's true! There is a Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) that prevents sites from collecting private information from kids - because Facebook is aimed at adults, it doesn't fall under this act. To keep your kids safe, they should not be on Facebook!

Knowing that young kids are seeing their parents and siblings on social networking sites like Facebook and My Space, new sites are being developed for young kids that comply with COPPA. I have not looked at any of these sites so you would need to check them out first!
