Each Letter. Aug. 15 - The third graders are learning their home row keys and typing in Microsoft Word. Aug. 22 - We will use Microsoft Word to type our names, changing font sizes as we type and continue typing using our home row keys. Aug. 29 - We will read and discuss the History of Computers and continue typing using our home row keys. Sept. 5 - We will continue reading and discussing the History of Computers and practicing our keyboarding skills. Sept.
12 - We will be using Microsoft Excel to create a chart our class's favorite colors in a pie graph. Sept. 26 - Students will be learning about Inside a Computer and will begin an Excel spreadsheet on Daily Temperatures. Oct. 3 - Students will continue learning about Inside a Computer, learning about Motherboards and Daughterboards this week. They will finish and print their Daily Temperatures line graphs. Oct. 10 - will be learning about the Inside a Computer and practicing their home row keys in Microsoft Word. They will begin working on a research/ report project on Desert Animals. In January and February, 3rd graders will be learning about Internet Safety using the CyberSmart curriculum. We will discuss the need to keep Private Information secure, using categories to do a web search, and the history of communication. What's the Big Idea? Can you identify my groups?
