Race Status (updated 3-12-10)The race scheduled for March 14th is a "go". The snow at Beaver is fantastic, though the weather may give us soft (warm) snow at race time.
Allow 30-40 minutes to drive to the Beaver Creek parking area from Lander, and an additional 20-30 minutes to ski to the range. There is a roughly one fifth of a mile walk from the parking lot to the the trailhead, which could be quite muddy. Watch your step crossing under the highway there is a big patch of bullet proof ice. See you Sunday!

Safety Clinic taught the night before the race is required for anyone who has not completed a LBC/USBA safety clinic. *** If you plan on attending the safety clinic, please send me an email (xc_ski@hotmail.com) so we know how many participants to expect*** We have great news for the novice racers! Thanks to a generous grant from the Friends of the NRA, we were able to buy 4 brand new biathlon rifles, including one left-handed model. The grant included air rifles and air rifle targets for children ages 8-15 to use!!!
As always, beginners are encouraged to participate in the races. Racers under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the liability waiver.
LBC provides ammunition and shooting accessories for race participants. Membership To shoot at Beaver Creek Ski Area on days other than races, we ask that you become a member of the Lander Biathlon Club to keep track of who is shooting, and help with race and club development. Our HistoryIn 2006 a group of enthusiatic folks created a new biathlon venue at Beaver Creek Ski Trails near Lander, Wyoming with the support of many organizations, including the NRA, the Lander Valley Sportman's Association, a local Boyscout Troop, and Triple L Construction. We held our first summer biathlon event July 2006 with a fantastic turnout of 25 racers! The targets and warming hut were purchased with grant money from Friends of the NRA. In January 2009, we received another Friends of the NRA grant to purchase new rifles, pellet guns, and pellet targets. We couldn't do this without their generous support! For SaleNone right now.
