League Note on Cameras
Siân received this note from the League
"Can you please ensure that the parents of ALL players involved with your club are instructed that the use of cameras or video recorders is not permitted at junior or mini football matches."

My guess is that the person who this affects most is probably myself!  I've put photos on U16, U13 and U12 matches this season already.(Although, my sons have moved on from Junior football so I am no longer a parent of a current player) I've asked Siân to clarify whether or not this includes team photos. [Update: Team photos are OK as no members of opposite team will be involved]
Thank You Bethan and Darren
These 2 club stalwarts coached football all day at the Cardiff Sport "Have a Go Day" at Heath Park. They braved searingly hot weather as well as large numbers of energised children! Well done!

May 25th 2011: Special Note from Siân Williams Club Chairperson

Matthew Price
I felt great sadness and shock when I heard that our present u16 coach Matthew Price ("Pricey") died unexpectedly last night at the age of 27. At such a young age this tragic event it is hard to fathom. He was an extremely fit guy, a present Welsh League footballer and promising teacher who would soon starting teacher-training in Hereford after finishing a year as an assistant teacher with Fitzalan High School. He was hoping to continue coaching the current u16 boys and take them up to Youth Level next season. He will be hugely missed within HPR and I know I speak for the boys and parents who had contact with him when I say he was such a great guy, had such a good rapport with the boys / parents and coaches that he came into contact with. I know this not only from him being being one of my coaches within HPR, but personally too, as my son is part of the u16's squad. The present u16's are saddened and shocked that he has died so so suddenly.
Matt's funeral will be on Saturday 4th June 11am at St Francis Church, Milford Haven followed by interment at MIlford Haven Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only.

Anita Stands Down as Mini-Secretary... (Message from Siân)
Sarah Atkins Steps in to the Breach!
"It is with sadness that I anounce that Anita has choosen to stand down.. I am sure that you have all appreciated her role and will support Sarah who will now be the new mini secretary.......
I must just say she has been a huge help to myelf - I was struggling as secretary..... as the club has so so grown.. and Anita niavelly said - "i'll help" on a coach down to swansea where her eldest was playing with my midlde boy to play for HPR against FC United of Dallas... I bit her hand off.. I don't quite think she realised what was involved and how much work goes on behind your jobs of coaching!! ... but she was now part of the running of HPR......and the rest was history... until now!
It's not an easy job running this club... I will miss her zeal and professionalism  / organisation.. she has been an assest to HPR... with great respect held by Cardiff & District league.. in her manner and organsiation.
So a big HUGE thanks for the time she has given to HPR........."
Rgds,
Siân

Did you get Tickets for Wales/England through the Club?
If so can you get in touch with Sara Vaterlaws (Club Tresurer). It's to do with the club getting a proportion of the ticket money.

Message from League Regarding Play on Sat 22 Jan
The league is aware that mini football was played at some venues on Saturday morning despite the conditions. It is possible that in some cases the decision was taken to play due to the frustration of having so many weeks called off, and the attitude "we are here so we will play". I am aware personally, through speaking to a grandparent, that the pitches at one venue which was used, were still deeply frozen. The parent in question is very experienced in junior football having been involved with a club previously for twelve years, and was also in the past a member of the C & D league council. He was only aware of the conditions when he picked up his grandson after the games. Please ensure that your team managers do not take the decision to play if there is risk of injury due to the frozen conditions. The safety of the players MUST be the prime consideration.
Regards  Robin

HPR's official fixtures have finished for Season 2010/11

Matthew Price Tragedy

Reminder of Cup Rules
In junior cup Matches the away team should provide the referee if no official is appointed by the League. [nets/flags-home team]
Extra time to be played if teams are level at the final whistle; this is 7 mins e/w for U12 and U13 and 10mins e/w for U14, U15 and U16. If scores are level the usual penalty shoot out takes place. [Teams take 5 each, the 5 takers selected from players still on the pitch at the end of extra time. If the scores are still level, teams take one each until one team scores and one does not. No player shall take a second penalty unless all  players have already taken a penalty.]

Note from Robin Davies, Junior Match Secretary (March)
Some teams will notice that they are not at their normal “home” venue. Unfortunately with the backlog of fixtures i have had to utilise which ever pitches are available.
I have concentrated on league fixtures (in March Fixtures), cup rounds will be arranged in April.

Note from Andrew Duff, Mini Match Secretary (March)
Would all secretaries please inform their team coaches/managers that if their team happens to be in the "Not Allocated" section it's because we have too many teams in their age group and they should not arrange friendly matches between teams that are not allocated. First-of-all they need to gain permission from the SWFA to play a friendly match. This is to make sure they are covered by the SWFA liability insurance. Secondly non allocated teams are expected to fill in if an allocated team informs the league they are unavailable.
